Unfortunately, as of this date, Mapquest and other popular data bases have not yet entered many of the addresses in Downeast Maine so it will be necessary to do some old fashion direction following, but it is simple. We are located on Coastal Rt. 1 about 18 miles east of the town of Ellsworth. Gouldsboro is directly across Frenchman Bay. Please click here to see the general location of Gouldsboro, ME

Coming from the West you proceed through Ellsworth on combined Rts. 1 and 3 and then turn left onto Rt. 1 North as it separates from Rt. 3. Go 18 miles and watch for a Mobile Gas Station/Subway shop on the left. We are located about 1/10th of a mile past this Mobile Station on the right.

Coming from the East you will follow Rt. 1 South along the coast past the Gouldsboro Post Office (on the left) and then another 1 mile to Acadia View also on your left. (If you see the Mobile Gas Station/Subway shop on your right you have gone 1/10th of a mile too far.)

General notes about traveling to the Bar Harbor area and Acadia view. When coming up the coast of Maine, Coastal Rt. 1 is a very scenic approach with many interesting shops, some great views and plenty of homey places to eat. We often suggest to people that they take Rt. 95 as far as Augusta and then cut over to the coast on Rt. 3 which joins with Rt. 1 at Belfast. From Belfast you are about an hour away from Acadia View and it is a nice drive. If you are interesting in avoiding the tourist traffic you can also get to this area by continuing on Rt. 95 to Bangor and exiting onto Rt. 395 (exit 182) which takes you over to Rt. 1A south to Ellsworth. This route saves some time especially on the weekends.

When traveling from Canada via the crossing at Calais we find Rt. 1 to be much more interesting than Rt.9 (stop and see Roosevelt’s Campobello International Park on the way)although you might save a little time by taking Rt. 9 West to Rt. 193 and then down to the coast.
